Science and research made possible the design of the Boltex Inertial device as part of its work focused on women.

An inert-material device for toning and rehabilitating the pelvic floor.

Boltex Inertial is a medical device that complies with existing health regulations. The materials used have been tested and meet all biocompatibility requirements.

Thanks to its design it is ideal for assisting insertion and removal, ensuring ease and comfort for the user, and in particular guaranteeing contact between the sphere's surface and the vaginal walls. It is completely sealed with a smooth outer wall, preventing any build-up of dirt or bacteria and making it easy to clean.

It is also comfortable and safe to use:

1. An inner ball lined with silicone to prevent noise.
2. The sphere is made of PC/ABS, a material that transmits vibration well.
3. The cord makes removal from the vagina easy. It is made of TPE, guaranteeing medical-grade quality and hygiene.

What is the pelvic floor?

The pelvic floor is made up of muscular and aponeurotic elements controlled by the nervous system.

Functions: keeping internal organs at rest, cushioning abdominal pressure during exertion, and contributing to continence, excretion and sexual function.

Performing all of these functions depends largely on the integrity and strength of the pelvic floor (type I fibres, which provide muscle tone, and, to a lesser extent, type II fibres, which help the sphincters close automatically in emergencies).

Main factors that weaken the pelvic floor: pregnancy, childbirth, menopause, high-impact sports (aerobics, athletics), others (obesity, constipation), and urinary incontinence itself — a condition of the weakened pelvic floor.

Statistics show that 1 in 3 women suffers from urinary incontinence. Of these, 58% suffer from stress and mixed urinary incontinence, which can be improved and rehabilitated through use of the Boltex Inertial device.

The age range we consider suitable for Boltex Inertial is 30-60 years. It is used both preventively and for rehabilitation of the pelvic floor muscles.

Indications

Treatment of stress urinary incontinence; treatment of mixed urinary incontinence (stress combined with urge); prevention after vaginal delivery; prevention of internal organ prolapse during menopause; treatment for sexual dysfunction resulting from low PFM tone (reduced sensitivity and intensity of orgasm); adjunct therapy for pelvic surgery (pre- and post-operative); prevention of tone loss in women who practice sports and high-impact activities.

How to use

This device was designed for use by women of any age and body type. Follow the instructions provided by your healthcare specialist.

1) Empty your bladder, if necessary.
2) Wash the Boltex device with warm water and soap.
3) Lubrication: use a small amount of lubricating gel if the vagina is dry.
4) Insertion: relax your pelvic muscles for both insertion and removal. Bending one or both legs (squatting) may help with insertion. Place your index or middle finger on the flat surface of the sphere (between the removal cords) and press the sphere into the vaginal canal. Part of the cord will remain outside the body so the device can be removed.
5) Exercise: exercise your muscles by walking for an hour, or as recommended by your doctor. If you do Kegel exercises while using Boltex, the benefits will be even greater. As a general rule, start with 15 min/day for two weeks, then continue with 30-60 minute sessions. Combine fast voluntary contractions with slow ones lasting 15-20 seconds. Boltex Inertial can be used daily; improved muscle tone is usually observed after 6-8 weeks, and most women recover their muscle tone after 3-6 months.

Note: at first you may experience muscular discomfort (cramping). If you experience severe discomfort, see your doctor before continuing use.

6) Removal: relax your muscles and use the cord to remove the device. Women with stress urinary incontinence are advised to remove the device in the knee-chest position with relaxed muscles.
7) Cleaning: clean the device before and after use with warm water and pH-neutral soap. Store it in its original box or pouch.

Contraindications

Do not use Boltex Inertial: if you have a vaginal and/or urinary tract infection; during menstruation, with absorbent tampons; during sexual intercourse involving penetration.

Precautions & warnings

If you are, or think you may be, pregnant, consult your doctor before use. Consult your doctor if you experience pain and/or inflammation after use. Do not use for longer than recommended by your healthcare specialist. Carefully follow health and hygiene guidance before, during and after use. Boltex is for personal use only — do not share it with others.
